Blog to the World

I'm an athlete. I don't like to read. I barely ever want to eat and sleeping is so essential. But since I'm suppose to write about this blog instead of sleeping, I guess I'll do so.

The book I chose is Black Boy by Richard Wright. I didn't pick it for any particular reason but I don't regret picking it. Originally I was like "oh my goodness this book is going to be too long I really don't have time to be reading this" but, then I thought about the summer reading books and realized this book is a peace of cake. Personally, I like to read books that are based off of racial inequalities just so I can get a deeper feel for how people of my race lived in that time period. Seeing as I'm a lazy reader, I'll only read books that'll interest me and this book is giving me justice.

My only goal for this blog is to make it everyone's favorite. I'm only kidding. I would like to develop my writing, take it to the next level. With the help of my peers, I feel as though different insight would further get me to the next level with writing. I don't want to be the basic writer and do what basic writers do. I want my writing to engage readers and really "ooo, ahh" the audience.

  1. I really love your honesty! Most people would just post about how they love english and about their passion for books. The fact that you instead chose to really open yourself up to your audience instead of throwing fluff at us really impressed me. I also think it's really great that you're able to enjoy reading certain books based on your culture. There's definitely a lot that you can do with that to connect your reading to the essential questions we discuss in class. Maybe the theme of your blog could be books pertaining the African American culture.

  2. I too like books that are associated with racial inequality because it always give me insights on how people of different race lived during critical moments. Also, I can hear your voice from the blog post through contraction and the use of “But” in the beginning of a sentence. Aside from sitting next to you, it really gives me a sense of who you are. After reading your blog post, I am looking forward to the “Oh, ahhh!” moment from your writing!

  3. I know how you feel when it comes to doing assignments. I usually am left choosing between sleep and homework, unlike you most of the time I choose sleep. I also love reading books about the struggles of blacks as well. I love how you are straight to the point and you do not really add anything to make this blog anymore than it has to be.

  4. I can't wait to read your blog posts! You have a sense of humor which adds a level of lightheartedness to your blog! Not to mention, I love how honest you are about how you feel about reading and books. So I know you're not going to be afraid to tell the world how you really feel about a book! Also, I definitely know how you feel. I'm not an avid reader myself (I would rather be practicing). I feel like I'm going to be able to relate to your blog very well and I'm looking forward to more posts!
